Amazon isn't going to officially start its Black Friday sales until 22 November, but it is run pre-sales already, and the Echo Plus has popped up.
This Echo Plus normally retails for £139.99, but is £95 off, meaning you can buy it for £44.99, the lowest price it has ever been.
There is a catch of course – this is the first-gen Echo Plus, the original model that offered a Zigbee controller to make smart home control easier. We always liked this speaker, although the overall sound quality isn't as good as that of the latest version of this speaker, which was updated in 2018, but it's still a great deal on an Amazon Echo.
As this uses the design of the original Echo, it's a plastic cylinder rather than having the latest fabric coating, but if you were looking for a bargain on the Echo Plus, or want one to match your existing first-gen Echo devices, then this is the deal for you.
The good news is that the Echo Plus first-gen offers all the Alexa features of the more recent versions – and it also supports stereo pairing, as well as being compatible with the Echo Sub. So while this isn't the latest Echo speaker, it's not outdated either.
We're expecting a range of discounts to land on Echo devices to appear on 22 November, when Amazon's sales kick-off properly.
